POSITION SUMMARY : The Hatchery Driver is responsible for transporting eggs and occasionally delivering chicks to various locations around the complex.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Drives truck to pick up eggs and deliver chicks in a safe and economical fashion.
Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with divisional guidelines and DOT requirements.
Loads and unloads truck according to division guidelines.
Handle eggs properly to reduce breakage.
Properly complete egg slips which must account for all eggs.
Observes all company personnel, safety, quality, and food safety policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
· Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
· Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds
· Valid forklift and pallet jack license or ability to obtain a license
· Ability to work in a cold environment
· Ability to learn new procedures, i.e. bar code scanner, equipment, stacking grids
· Familiarity with computer system
