    POSITION SUMMARY: The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and directing all functions of the Processing Plant including processing, maintenance, and engineering while maintaining or exceeding Company standards. Responsibilities include implementing operational strategies and objectives to ensure achievement of Company and Plant goals, with a focus on people and food safety, quality, order fulfillment, margin, and development of people.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Manages the Processing Plant and administers company policy and procedures to meet people and food safety, quality, order fulfillment, cost, and continuous improvement goals.

  • Manages and administers company policies and procedures fairly and equitably to maintain standards established for safety, quality, and overall company personnel satisfaction.

  • Directs and manages efforts in areas of new products, quality improvements, cost reduction, yield control and equipment maintenance.

  • Manages process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement methodologies in collaboration with other departments.

  • Manages goals, objectives and budgets maintaining necessary records to track, monitor and analyze variances.

  • Supports and creates opportunities for team members so they develop the skills necessary to achieve their maximum potential.

  • Manages the Processing Plant to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Manages the maintenance functions to ensure the smooth installation, repair and operation of equipment and facilities.

  • Proactively supports the efforts of scheduling to maximize production, efficiency, and margin.

  • Engages team members through pro‑active communication and involvement.

  • Performs other duties as required.

    EXPECTATIONS – all Team Members

    · Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.

    · Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.

    · Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma

    · Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices, and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 7- 10 Years of previous related experience

  • Extensive knowledge of production techniques and methods

  • Currently hold or in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, or management is required.

  • Considerable managerial skills

  • Considerable skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing

  • Working knowledge of management and information systems

  • Very good negotiation skills

  • Very good Project Management Skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good computer skills including experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead/direct, coach and mentor team members.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships -- work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment and as part of a project team
