Scope of Position :
The Superintendent for warehouse, planning and shipping operations is responsible for directing plant scheduling, plant warehouse and plant FG shipping activities. This includes providing direction to the warehouse and planning teams in the management of warehouse operations and the planning and shipping of finished goods. The leader will also ensure employee safety, product safety, quality and compliance to warehouse standards.
Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping operations and logistics preferred.
Assist the Business Development & Engineering team in establishing and executing capital budgets earmarked for improvements in the warehouse and shipping functions.
Must have good communication, interpersonal skills and maintain a good working relationship with plant management, plant employees, corporate and USDA/FSIS.
Ensure food safety & quality as it relates to plant warehouse activities and programs
Responsible for plant schedule attainment as it relates to the planning and shipment of finished goods.
Develops the annual operating budget and deliver cost KPI’s for the function.
Set the warehouse culture for the plant and uphold Plumrose values
Monitor and analyzewarehouse labor to improve loading times and product movementto be done efficiently.
Manage, develop and maintain programs for hiring, training & professional development for the warehouse team.
Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of warehouse and/or production management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years’ experience with a consumer packaged goods food plant
PC / software skills including Microsoft excel.
Physical Demands/Work Environment :
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
Office and plant setting: the plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
