The Training and Development Manager will design and implement a training strategy for the organization to include professional development, culture assessments and train the trainer sessions. The role will help shape the company’s culture and embed our values, mission, and vision within the organization. They will conduct needs analyses, assist with talent reviews, conduct employee engagement surveys, create a framework for career development, etc. This person will also manage the trainee and intern program.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties as assigned
Partner with Operations and HR Leaders in the field to better understand their training and development needs.
Design, develop, implement, and evaluate company-wide training programs with an increased focus on virtual design and delivery.
Analyze training evaluations to modify and improve existing programs and/or develop new training programs.
Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
Conduct needs analyses to determine gaps in skills, knowledge, and/or competencies within the business
Develop and drive initiatives to help build the company’s culture
Design and facilitate Supervisor/ Manager training courses and conduct Train the Trainer session in our Manufacturing sites
Develop and implement regular organizational culture and connectivity events such as employee outings, community volunteer events, and other activities
Manage the JBS Trainee and Internship program to include program creation and training for all mentors and managers.
Serve as a subject matter expert resource to recommend organizational development tools and practices
Drive high employee engagement and identify strategies to retain top talent
Use various instructional methods to develop and deliver content, including demonstrations, small group activities, videos and other methodologies as appropriate
Follow up with leaders to ensure scheduled training programs are completed and documented
Assist with other HR related tasks such as recruiting, data analyses, presenting in leadership team meetings, building presentation decks, etc.
Serve as back-up for Operations HR Director
Travel 50% Capabilities/ Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or related field or equivalent experience preferred
5-7 years of relevant work experience in HR or Organizational/Learning Development, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups strongly preferred
Strong leadership and presentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic and agile thinker and self-starter
