With approximately 2,800 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (-JBS Canada-) is one of the largest employers in southern Alberta and one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of three locations-the Head Office and a Case Ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta, as well as a processing facility in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily. The JBS Canada Brooks facility has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more.

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Supervisor to join us at our Brooks, facility on the B-Shift to assist in our commitment to continuously improve our team member engagement, development, compliance, recognition and performance management.-
Be an active and available resource for all employees, supervisors and managers addressing all employee relations issues in a professional and timely manner. Conduct sensitive and complex workplace investigations.
Provide guidance and assistance on a wide range of human resource issues including: employee relations, conflict resolution, employee retention and engagement, harassment investigations, sick leave and return-to-work management, and HR policies and programs
Responsible for the alignment of HR practices with corporate culture and business strategies, while providing innovative solutions and approaches to human capital challenges.
Actively contribute to improving the analysis, delivery and administration of HR programs; streamlining and standardizing HR policies, practices and processes where appropriate
Work in partnership with team leaders to provide recognition to teams and team members, celebrate success and encourage pride in the workplace. Assist with planning and execution of corporate events.
Actively develop solid relationships with all stakeholders including team members, Supervisors and Operations Managers.
Identify and evaluate changes in industry practices and business trends, and capitalize on opportunities that will improve the Company-s competitive position.
Actively participate in HR project work, such as development of new human resources initiatives for the organization
Ensure that all files, paperwork and record keeping are up-to-date and accurate as well as in compliance with governmental requirements (including legal issues, complaints, etc.).
Bachelor-s degree or Diploma in a related field is required
Experience in a Unionized environment considered an asset.-
2-3 years- experience in meat processing or other manufacturing/industrial setting is preferred
Communication/public relations skills required
Flexible to work alternate shift or weekends if required
