JBS Food Canada is seeking an experienced Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our team. This position will support all computer/network equipment including servers, switches, cabling, printers and desktops system.

NOTE: This role is located in Brooks, Alberta.

You will:

Provide production support for issues involving instrumentation and process control;

Provide maintenance support, including calibrations for all instrumentation and process control, including the development of maintenance support strategies and schedules;

Develop, execute and document an Asset Care program for instrumentation, automation and related systems;

Support utility metering and related systems;

Select and commission support for new instrumentation;

Lead and participate in failure analysis activities related to instrumentation or process control;

Lead and assist, independently or in teams, with the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities for process control and instrumentation.

You have:

Ability to perform work without established procedures (and thus involved with procedure development) with minimum supervision;

Team and customer service focus with good organizational and planning skills;

Strong communication and diplomacy skills required to communicate technical information with non-technical resources;

Must be proficient with Allen Bradley, PLC 5, and RS Logix 500 & 5000 programming and troubleshooting;

Proficiency in SLQ servers required;

Instrumentation: I/P transducers and Modulating Valves;

Must be proficient with HMI-s, including Panelview, Factory Talk, and Wonderware;

Journeyperson Instrumentation Certificate is required

2-5 years of related experience;

Ability to read drawings pertaining to industrial instrumentation;

Analytical Thinking with excellent troubleshooting skills, and ability to read P&IDs and follow PLC programs;

Willingness and flexibility to work in shift as scheduled (afternoon shift/weekends);

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;

Knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite.
