JBS/Swift Packaging R&D Internship

The JBS/Swift Internship Program is a paid internship beginning in January, designed to introduce interns to working in the packaging and R&D field within one of our many processing facilities. This program allows collegiate students to gain foundational knowledge of our business in a challenging and collaborative environment.

How you will make an impact:

The JBS Internship program will give you an opportunity to

  • Deliver project results that impact our bottom-line. Projects will be determined alongside our Packaging R&D team and the mentor assigned to the intern.

  • Develop packaging with production process and cost efficiencies at the forefront of importance.

  • Build knowledge base in package development and commercialization process within the Swift Prepared Foods Organization

  • Support various projects such as material reduction, new development, and packaging quality improvements for our plants and customers.

  • Share ideas that help our team think outside the box

  • Enrolled in a University/College.

  • Basic Knowledge of packaging materials (primary, secondary, tertiary) and barrier/strength properties.

  • Capable of designing experiments, compiling test data, and determining conclusions/next steps through data analysis.

  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to learn Swift’s product categories as well as packaging and processing technologies.

  • Alignment with JBS core values and culture

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
