ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Performs maintenance on incubation equipment, buildings and grounds at the Hatchery and in the office areas.

Performs preventative maintenance on all systems at the facility including incubation, heating/air conditioning, alarms, etc. Checks daily for proper operation of systems, machines and equipment.

Monitors and maintains spare parts inventory for incubators and equipment, ensuring that appropriate parts are available as needed.

Monitors machine operation/performance on a daily basis.

Documents all maintenance issues/concerns at the hatchery and communicates to the leadership team at the Hatchery.

Performs callback maintenance duties on assigned weeks and is responsible for handling all building and equipment maintenance on those weeks; also performs maintenance and production duties as required to cover for vacations or absences throughout the hatchery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Considerable knowledge of maintenance and repair of hatchery equipment, heating and air conditioning units, and buildings.

Boiler’s License preferred or willingness to obtain.

Considerable ability to analyze and resolve complicated maintenance problems.

Working skill in supervising, instructing and coordinating the maintenance function.

Good verbal communication skills.

Considerable ability to operate power tools and machinery.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work at elevated heights.
