JOB SUMMARY

Spice Room Attendants are responsible for supporting the Spice Room in creating the correct spice blends for the many different products in our Fine Italian Meats catalog. To ensure every batch is made with exacting quality we expect an unwavering dedication to upholding our high-quality standards. A keen attention to detail and great attendance is required for this position. Each recipe has its own unique blend of ingredients and requires your diligence to quality assurance for the many different types of dry cured meats we produce here at Principe and it all starts in the Spice Room.

Hourly Pay rate is $22 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing support to the Spice Room to ensure creation of correct and quality spice recipes for our products.

Use an assortment of tools to perform job tasks

Measure exact quantities

Excellent communication

Fill out documentation

Operate heavy equipment

Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively

Expected to work hands-on at high speed and times to lift over 50 pounds

Must keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocols

Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard

Other duties as assigned

Work regularly in temperatures are near or below freezing (Coolers, Loading Dock Freezer)

Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30 Degrees-Fabrication)

Work in areas that require you to lift, pull, or push 50 lbs.

Work with sharp knives or a cutting tool

Willing and capable of working overtime when necessary

Available to work Day and Nights

Willing and capable of working Saturdays

Attendance is a critical part of the process in maintaining adequate training for our new team members.

Must be at 4 points or less to be considered for the position

LIFTING/ PUSHING/PULLING – 10 lbs. -50 lbs. production

NEUTRAL WRIST - Repetitive hand motions and grasping.

REACHING – Reaching for product on the conveyor belt with hooks, reaching for boxes, or bags

STANDING – Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (Loading dock 7 days as needed per schedule.) (2 allowed breaks are scheduled based on the union contract and operational requirements.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Production and maintenance settings

Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives

Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise

Ability to work 40+ hours

Good attendance and safety records (Less than 4 points for attendance required )

The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled. During Fall Season, Saturdays are typically scheduled.
