JBS USA Staff Accountant in Doral, Florida

The Point-of-Sale (POS) Staff Accountant is responsible for day-to-day operational accounting functions with an emphasis on Cash Receipts, Invoices, and Inventory. Success in this role requires the ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and use new tools and programs including SAP. Additional responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include maintaining electronic files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles. This position is responsible for monthly journal entries, uploading non-PO invoices, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a day-to-day and monthly basis. Staff accountant should conduct regular audits and utilize skills to track, process, and research accounting processes/problems.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and enter third party invoices in SAP

  • Review and process gift card activation transactions

  • Reconcile daily sales information for all brick and mortar stores on POS and SAP

  • Assist in entering new vendors in the system as needed

  • Responsible for creating monthly accruals lists to be entered in SAP

  • Collaboration with Customer Service department to research credits and address customer issues

  • Track and report new and completed credits and refunds

  • Post inventory receipts and sales transactions to accounting system

  • Prepare aging of accounts receivable

  • Manage accounting email inbox to facilitate internal and external inquiries

  • Research and solve payment discrepancies through reconciliations of vendors’ accounts

  • Ensure prompt payment to vendors by managing relationships with their accounting team

  • Manage and track chargeback disputes on credit cards and provide support for resolution

  • Assist in the completion of special projects and other duties as required to meet business needs

  • Monthly reconciliations and journal entries

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, with 1-2 years accounting experience preferred

  • Proven analytical skills and strong attention to detail

  • Knowledge of GAAP

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Teams, and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
