Job Title: Accounting Clerk II
Pilgrim's Pride is seeking an Accounting Clerk II for our "City, State" facility. GENERAL SUMMARY:Performs intermediate level clerical accounting duties requiring some analysis and individual judgment in the application of routine calculation, verification, and posting procedures to recurring assignments. Performs accounting support functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related financial area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Compiles and reviews various standard and non-standard accounting documents such as vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and cash receipts for completeness and accuracy of mathematical calculations. Performs simple adjustments with lead or supervisor guidance.• Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers. Posts accounting information where the identification and location of postings may be chosen from a standard set.• Reconciles moderately complex accounts. Resolves discrepancies with review by higher level personnel.• Reconciles discrepancies identified by lower level personnel.• Reviews records and subsequent computer printouts to balance accounts and to identify suspense items or delinquent accounts requiring further action.• Balances fairly complex accounts by running tapes, proofreading, etc. Prepares summary of balances, cost information, or simple standard reports as requested for management's use in preparing financial statements.• Reconciles bank accounts. Posts information and balances to general or subsidiary ledgers. Processes payments and compiles segments of monthly closings, annual reports, etc.• Audits and proofs accounting or other reports for clerical accuracy and conformance to departmental, county, and state procedures.• May file and maintain clerical records. Reports pertinent information to accounting and bookkeeping or technical operations.• Develops internal contacts outside immediate work area for such purposes as obtaining, verifying, or providing information concerning accounting documents.• May be required to travel.• May require availability outside of normal business hours.COMPLEXITY:Restricted to gathering and interpreting data for problems of limited difficulty or complexity. Tasks and procedures are moderately standard and require basic analytic ability to compare numbers and simple facts for selecting the correct action.PROBLEM SOLVING:Tasks are defined and follow instructions, with minimal problem solving.FREEDOM OF ACTION:Works under moderate supervision within standard operating procedures. May function autonomously, with a supervisor/lead available to answer questions.COMMUNICATION:INTERNAL; Internal communication is required on a daily basis with Clerical or Technical level positions. Communication requires moderate tact and cooperation to convey basic facts (e.g., scheduling and/or coordinating two personal calendars, resolving problems, and/or obtaining necessary information).
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
EDUCATION:Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
