Purpose & Scope:

The Accounting Specialist position will perform a variety of accounting and financial tasks and will report directly to the Plant Controller. This position is a hands-on role that will work with multiple functional areas and product category owners to gather and report financial data. This position will manage the plant’s AP processing, tracking/reconciliation, and reporting related to plant expenses as well as fixed assets. This position will assist the accounting department in various reports, inventory management, costing functions, and month-end requirements.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Manage AP inquires and AP processing

• Manage fixed asset closings

• Assist with production and financial reports

• Assist reconciling inventories

• Assist with product costing accounting activities and reporting

• Assist with month-end close responsibilities

• Work with the Plant Controller in special projects assigned by Corporate and/or local management

Working Conditions:

• General office environment

• Production and maintenance settings

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures on occasion

• Weekend work required on occasion

Requirements:

Education: Associate’s degree in finance or accounting preferred

Experience: 3+ years accounting experience

Special Skills:

• SAP or comparable ERP system experience preferred

• Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing

• Excel experience and proficient in all other Microsoft Office products

• Ability to work proactively in a high-paced deadline oriented environment

• Excellent organizational skills required
