We are looking for a Commodity Trader for JBS that will report to the Corporate Office in Greeley, Colorado.

This position will be responsible for implementing truck origination purchasing/marketing plan, assisting with all trade functions, and executing a farmer retention program. This role will have direct interaction with farmers and commercial grain companies, purchasing local corn for a specific region, purchasing NGFI's and developing enhancement programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Grain, establish and maintain customer relationships

  • Develop and maintain daily position rep

  • Communicate with the feed mills on shipments, deliveries, freight, and operations

  • Resolve freight, accounting, and other issues

  • Develop farmer marketing programs

  • Maintain trades in Computer system (PO entry, execution and closure)

  • Collaborate with Accounts' Payable on payment inquires

  • Build report to analyze market conditions and draw area basis changes

  • Answer customer calls

  • Purchase NGFI that add value to the diets

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commodity merchandising

  • 4 Year Degree - preferably in Ag related field

  • General knowledge of production agriculture preferred

  • Basic understanding of commodity trading

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization and Vendors

  • General knowledge of accounting process and ability to reconcile information

  • Strong work ethic – self-motivated and driven

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • MTECH knowledge desirable

  • Detail Oriented

  • Strong analytical skills

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  • Base salary range of $77,000-$100,000; and

  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
