Labor Relations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements and maintains the plant’s labor relations programs and procedures
Ensures satisfactory labor-management relations and helps interpret collective bargaining agreements
Leads grievance procedures including arbitrations and assists all levels of management on labor matters
Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the his/her functional area of responsibility and capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments i.e. legal, compliance, worker’s compensation
Stay current on Federal, State and case laws changes and monitor labor law updates for changes that affect Human Resources
Conducts research on union related matters; analyze CBAs to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contracts; serve on and represent management in labor contract negotiations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in unionized environment required
2-3 years experience on Industry or other manufacturing setting
Strong communication and public speaking skills
PHR or SPHR preferred
Bilingual skills preferred
