Summary: Lead the Trim Team to maximize the total product value of beef trimmings for both the Fed and Regional Beef Businesses. Use all tools to provide direction, such as sales variance reports, production reports, claims reports, market forecasts, current position reports, and historical data. Continually optimize the customer base by analyzing customer margins to shift volumes toward more profitable accounts and new accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Trim Sales Team; install a high performance culture.

  • Maximize total product value realization on beef trimmings. Use market tools and market knowledge. Continually increase sales to new and existing high margin accounts and decrease volumes to low margins accounts.

  • Monitor and recap trim position to enable educated decisions on pricing both spot and forward.

  • Provide trim pricing to sales force.

  • Manage and execute frozen trim strategy to maximize return on frozen products and minimize freezer costs.

  • Build Relationships with major national accounts; including periodic business reviews.

  • Provide feedback on market conditions to peers.

  • Coordinate with operations/plant teams/technical services to manage production levels, mix and product quality.

  • Work with operations and supply chain to maximize combo and truck weights.

  • Coordinate demand with ground beef product team.

  • Coordinate with scheduling, traffic, credit and claims to provide superior customer service.

  • Review sales and claims reports to ensure sales are maximized and claims are minimized and handled properly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

  • Preferred 5 years experience in the beef industry and 3 years of management experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Advance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.

  • QlikView experience preferred.

  • Works closely with BU leadership, scheduling, production and business analysis departments.

  • Manager Key Customer Relationships.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  • Base salary range of $120,000-$140,000; and

  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
