We are seeking an International Logistics Specialist to join our S&OP team at our Corporate Office in Lafayette, Colorado. The Specialist is responsible for logistics of cold-chain export/import orders which includes communication with freight companies, Customs, USDA, buyers and inspection/warehouse locations. Responsibilities:

  • Verify all customer instructions are complete and all necessary permits/ licenses are in place to meet country requirements

  • Determineand book steamship carrier based on rate, availability, and customer service provided

  • Schedule appointments at warehouse facility according to production availability, facility costs, and free days/storage given

  • Coordinate delivers of full and partial truckloads to trans-load facilities. Decisions will be based off of facility costs, port congestion, and steamship line rate

  • Book inland trucking/dray carrier and dispatch. Logistics Specialist determines carrier to book based on rate, availability, and on-time performance

  • Requests credit approval on shipment, confirms load details in transportation system/s, and then releases orders to the inspection facility

  • File shipment on Automated Export System (AES) for government requirements

  • Monitor containers throughout inland and ocean voyages. Confirms customs clearance with Customers upon arrival

  • Stay current on the constantly changing government requirements of international business/markets.

  • Responsible for daily crisis-management and rescheduling shipments if needed

  • Forecasting / production planning involvement

  • Managing international inventory

  • GS1 registration of new, export product UPC’s

  • Sample shipments and coordination

  • Work with International Custom’s brokers / HS Code look-up per market for import duty implications

  • Create / provide international documentation such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Free Trade Agreements, & Phytosanitary Certificates

  • Create SOP for various work-flows

  • Facilitate shipments and marketing materials for Trade Shows

  • Pull inventory reports and participate in weekly team export meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or 3 years import/export logistic experience

  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience in transportation scheduling and planning a plus

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required

  • SAP experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong time management skills required

  • Minimal travel, as needed (10-15%)

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment

  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, paid holidays

  • Base salary range of $50,000 – 70,000

  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
