Senior Accountant

Purpose & Scope:

This position will report to the plant controller and is responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reporting for the Lenoir, NC retail ready plant. This position will work closely with operations to reduce costs through reporting and analysis. Assists with development of internal control procedures, standards and compliance as it pertains to generally accepted accounting principles.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Oversee completion of daily production yield reports, labor utilization reports, and inventory reconciliation.

• Maintain standard costs including yields, bills of material, labor rates, and overheads. Weekly standard cost processing.

• P&L reporting / analysis / review.

• Month end close responsibilities, including journal entry preparation, entering journal entries.

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations each period.

• General ledger reporting and research (relevant systems include SAP and Blackline).

• Work closely with cross-functional departments with inventory cycle counts and PO reconciliation.

• Receive, review, and match vendor invoices and submit for payment.

• Ad hoc reporting.

Requirements:

Education: B.S. Degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience: Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP). Experience is food processing or manufacturing environments is desired.

Special Skills:

• Good interpersonal skills

• Ability to multi-task along with maintaining a high level of accuracy

• Efficient in Microsoft Excel
