JBS USA 2nd shift MAINTENANCE HOURLY in Mason, Ohio


  1. Monitor the water treatment facility's performance to ensure the effective treatment and pumping of the water supply and make adjustments as necessary to maintain facility's regulatory compliance.

  2. Monitor the refrigeration system and make adjustments to maintain proper cold room and freezing tunnel temperatures with little to no supervision. This position provides customer service to the rest of the facility (warehouse and production) and must maintain equipment for peak efficiency, and power saving while meeting the requirements of OHSA's PSM, and the EPA's RMP programs.

  3. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment

a. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.

b. Follows all lock out, tag out procedures.

c. Performs conveyor belt repair, minor equipment repair, and replaces parts in need of replacing.

  1. Completes maintenance recordkeeping

a. Keeps record of all work performed.

b. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.

c. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repair.

  1. Understands and follows the company GMP policy.

  2. Understands and follows the company safety rules

a. Cleans and maintains work area

  1. May be required to work long hours and weekends.

  2. May assume other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent certification

  • At least 1 year industrial maintenance experience required.

  • Ability to speak, read and write English

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

  • Must be well organized with good attention to detail

  • Adaptive and dependable with the ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others

  • Must maintain helpful and professional attitude and appearance.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions to deal with problems involving a few different variables.

Physical Requirements:

Activities: Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day

Hearing: Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information

Repetitive Motion: Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands and or fingers

Visual Abilities: Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Physical Strength: Must be able to frequently list light to heave objects throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day on a cold, wet concrete floor.

Working Conditions: Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
