Job Title: Yards Supervisor
Location: Souderton, PA
Essential Job Functions:
Receive all cattle and handle proper paperwork associated with each load
Oversee Yards team during sorting, weighing and lining up cattle
Verify anti-mortem procedures working closely with veterinarian and USDA
Responsible for ensuring compliance in humane handling procedures
Perform daily safety walks, correcting any non-compliance issues
Work with Quality Assurance department to ensure product quality and food safety
Monitors and confirms machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized
Trains and develops employees to attain department objectives through teamwork
Keep track of employee hours, schedules, and duties
Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience handling live stock
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required
3-5 years of experience working in beef slaughter operations
Exhibit strong problem solving and leadership qualities
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Proficiency in multiple languages preferred but not required
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
General computer proficiencies
Must be able to work flexile hours, including some Saturdays
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and stand/walk for extended periods of time
