Breeder Manager in Training
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This is a training position with the intent of training a qualified candidate for a full time breeder manager position. This position will train a qualified candidate to be able to direct and coordinate breeder operations to ensure the delivery of a quality product. Duties include training in scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of work as a Manager (or equivalent) over Breeder Service Techs. This is a training program designed to train a future breeder manager to be placed in an open position within the company.
Candidates will be trained in the following areas :
Directing the day-to-day breeder operations to ensure the required quantity and quality of hatch eggs are available for hatcheries.
Implementing and monitoring all pullet and breeder production programs.
Providing communication and direction for all contract pullet and breeder producers.
Monitoring the development of all contract pullet and breeder producers as well as the development of the pullet placements, moves, vaccinations, and sales to ensure proper hatch egg numbers.
Providing performance and cost numbers to accounting and upper management.
Monitoring pullet and breeder flock health and adherence to blood testing procedures.
Monitoring and promoting driver safety with all service people.
Animal welfare
Biosecurity
Disease recognition and control
BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of breeder related experience is preferred but not required
Computer skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
SAP experience preferred.
Mtech experience preferred
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners.
Must be able to work varying shifts, holidays and weekends as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
