HUMAN RESOURCES MANANGER

HOURS:

  • Day shift – flexible as needed

  • Saturday as needed/required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field

  • Two+ years of experience in unionized environment required

  • Four years in Human Resources preferred

  • 2-3 years’ experience in meat industry or other manufacturing setting

  • Bilingual skills preferred

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Communication/public relations skills required

  • HR Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)

  • Experience in Leadership role, Project Management, and/or Process Improvement preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for labor relations with local UFCW, administration of the collective bargaining agreement and the grievance process.

  • Provides facility supervision with advice and counsel on personnel issues

  • Oversee unemployment claims

  • Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. stays current or recent federal, state and case law charges and monitors labor law updates for charges that affect HR

  • Administers all employee relations issues. Processes and implements formal disciplinary action of employees, initiates termination procedures and terminates employees as needed

  • Prepares and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data. Maintains HRIS integrity

  • Responds to any questions and/or requests by government agencies, including employee complaints. Represents the company at hearings

  • Establishes, evaluates and maintains departmental reports and key indicators

  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed

  • Directs local benefits administration, enrollment and open enrollment meetings

  • Supervises staff of HR employees and Payroll Dept./employees

  • Responsible for internal company communication, including bulletin boards, company newsletter, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
